OK, just click on the download link before you read any further. You have got to see this intro NOW! FR-08 gives Heaven 7 hard competition for the intro-of-the-year award. This intro is an amazing piece of work, and if you don't know it's a 64KB intro when you first watch it, you'd bet that's it at least a 10MB hog. The first thing I wish to comment on in this 64K demo is the extremely great soundtrack. It's a tune that incorporates elements from hardtrance and trance, and it also has an industrial sound in some parts. It is at its height when you're watching the endscroller. I simply love it, and I really didn't know one could make music like this with a realtime synthesizer. Further it has some very well detailed and good textures and 3D scenes. All of this in 65 536 bytes? Yup. After the endscroller had finished, I was just left with a big grin in the face, and one thought in the head: "again!!" The intro itself gave me a feeling of deja-vu though, and shoot me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the Kasparov engine?? If you want the music (believe me, you do!) from this intro you can download [fr08zakz.exe] from KB's homepage. It's a 37KB .exe that renders 100MB+ of great trance to your harddisk. You think that's impressive? Wait until you see the damn intro... In sum: An intro with pretty much the same design and feeling as Kasparov, but with MUCH better music (in my opinion), and it's all in 64KB. It runs in 800x600, and needs a quite good processor / graphics card and 128MB of RAM. Screenshots are resized to 640x480, and definitely don't do the intro justice.
